Valda Crowder, MD, MBA
For 30 years, Valda Crowder, MD, MBA, affectionately known as ‘Dr. V,’ has been a board-certified emergency medicine physician who has treated patients during four pandemics, one mass shooting and a category four hurricane. Her expertise uniquely blends clinical experience with public policy and business acumen. Dr. V has developed policy which became part of the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act and the Affordable Health Care Act. As an appointee on the Presidential Task Force during the Clinton Administration, she identified areas of critical workforce shortages and
strategies to improve health outcome and eliminate health inequities. Dr. V led teams which developed new ways to address drug addiction, mental health and violence in health care systems, such as Cooper Hospital/UMDNJ Health Care System in Camden, New Jersey and Corizon Health, a health service provider for people in prison. She serves as National Chair of the Health Committee for Black Women for Biden.
